My Top 10 Speed Champions Sets

Want a sports car but don't have the money? Don't worry, Lego has got you covered! When it comes to capturing the thrill of high-speed racing in brick form, few themes do it better than Lego Speed Champions. Since its debut in 2015, the line has evolved from simple, six-stud-wide builds to detailed, display-worthy replicas that car enthusiasts and collectors alike can appreciate. Whether you’re drawn to the sleek design of modern supercars, the nostalgia of classic racers or the £19.99 price tag, Speed Champions offers something for everyone. In this post, I’ll be counting down my top 10 Lego Speed Champions sets. Buckle up, because we’re about to hit full throttle through some of my favourite cars.

#1

Kicking off this list is one of my personal favourites, the Lego Speed Champions Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) from Fast and Furious 2. This set is an absolute treat for both LEGO builders and Fast & Furious fans. Based on Brian O’Conner’s iconic Nissan Skyline GT-R from 2 Fast 2 Furious, it perfectly captures the car’s legendary silver-and-blue design. The detailing is spot-on, from the signature blue stripes and rear spoiler to the printed “GT-R” logo on the grille. At just £19.99, it’s a great-value build that balances accuracy and playability. The included minifigure of Brian adds a nice nostalgic touch, making it a must-have for collectors. Whether you’re displaying it or re-enacting high-speed chases, this Skyline is pure Lego adrenaline.

#2

Sticking with the Fast and Furious-themed sets, my second pick is the Lego Speed Champions Honda S2000 from, once again, Fast and Furious 2. This bright pink Honda S2000 is a bold and brilliant addition to the LEGO Speed Champions line-up. The set perfectly recreates Suki’s iconic ride, complete with its detailed printed graphics and eye-catching rear spoiler. The shaping of the car is impressively accurate, capturing the sleek, convertible design that made it stand out in the movie. Not being too expensive, it’s a great value for fans who want a vibrant, unique car to display next to the Skyline GT-R. The Suki minifigure adds a fun touch of personality, making this set a must-have for anyone building their own Fast & Furious collection in brick form.

#3

This is a bit of a cheat, but for my third pick, it is any of the F1 sets. Although they are essentially the same car with different colours and decals, each car provides a unique building experience. For motorsport fans, this set is an absolute winner. The Lego Speed Champions F1 captures the sleek, aerodynamic design of the iconic racing machines. With each car coming with its iconic colour scheme and detailed bodywork, it perfectly channels the speed and precision of real Formula 1 engineering. At £19.99 each, it offers great value for both builders and collectors. The included driver minifigure (although it would have been nice if they had the real-life drivers) adds an authentic racing touch, making this set ideal for display or high-speed brick track action. Whether you’re a fan of F1 or just love finely detailed Lego cars, these sets definitely take pole position.

#4

Although this set hasn’t officially hit shelves yet (just like another set on this list, stick around to find out!), it’s already shaping up to be a standout addition to the Speed Champions range. Lego has done an incredible job capturing Lightning McQueen’s iconic look from the Cars movies, from the bold red bodywork and Rusteze logos to the expressive printed eyes and classic 95 lightning bolt. The level of detail packed into this build is impressive, perfectly balancing Lego's charm with Pixar accuracy. It’s full of character and nostalgia, making it a must-have for fans of both Cars and Speed Champions collectors alike. If the final product lives up to these early images, this set will definitely race straight to the top of many fans’ wish lists, including mine!

#5

My fifth pick is the Lego Speed Champions Ferrari F40. It is a true celebration of one of the most iconic supercars ever built, and as one of my personal favourite real-life cars, this set absolutely delivers. Lego has captured the F40’s unmistakable shape beautifully, from its sleek wedge profile to the signature rear wing and pop-up headlight details. The vibrant Ferrari red colour and printed logo add an authentic touch, while the build itself feels smooth and satisfying from start to finish. It’s a perfect balance of nostalgia and precision, showing just how far the Speed Champions line has come. For fans of classic performance cars, this F40 is pure perfection in brick form.

#6

My sixth pick is once again another favourite real-life car, the Lego Speed Champions Lamborghini Countach. This set is a stunning tribute to one of the most iconic supercars of the 1980s. The sleek white design, sharp angles, and detailed rear wing perfectly capture the essence of the original vehicle. LEGO’s designers have done an impressive job translating the car’s distinctive wedge shape into brick form, especially at this smaller scale. The set also includes a stylish driver minifigure with a racing suit and helmet, adding to the authentic touch. Overall, this is a beautifully designed model that delivers both nostalgic charm and satisfying building techniques, making it a must-have for car enthusiasts and LEGO collectors alike.

#7

My sixth pick is the LEGO Speed Champions Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It's a bold and beautifully crafted model that perfectly captures the power and precision of Porsche’s legendary racing heritage. The vibrant orange colour, aerodynamic curves, and massive rear wing give the set an unmistakably sporty look. The build cleverly uses bricks to recreate the car’s sleek silhouette, while the detailed interior and authentic design touches, like the printed headlights and distinctive Porsche badge, make it stand out on display. Complete with a racing driver minifigure and realistic styling, this set is a fantastic addition for both motorsport fans and LEGO enthusiasts who appreciate high-performance design.

#8

My eighth pick is probably from the most recognisable and iconic car: James Bond's Aston Martin. The Lego Speed Champions Aston Martin DB5 is a stylish and sophisticated tribute to one of cinema’s most iconic cars. Instantly recognisable with its classic silver finish and elegant curves, this model perfectly captures the timeless design of James Bond’s legendary ride. The set offers a unique build experience, as consumers can choose what number plate the car can have, referencing the Bond movies. The included James Bond minifigure, dressed sharply in a tuxedo, adds an extra layer of charm and collectability. This set beautifully balances nostalgia and detail, making it a standout addition for both LEGO collectors and film fans alike.

#9

My ninth pick is the Lego Speed Champions Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Race Car. This set is a bold and energetic build that captures the spirit of American muscle and racing excitement. Its striking blue colour scheme and detailed decals make it stand out on any display shelf or track. The set includes a driver minifigure complete with a helmet and fuel can, adding to the sense of action and pit-lane realism. The build itself is fun and dynamic, with clever use of pieces to create the aggressive front grille and sporty rear spoiler. Perfect for fans of speed and power, this Camaro is a fantastic tribute to a modern racing icon.

#10

As alluded to before, this set, like Lightning McQueen, isn't released yet. The Lego Back to the Future DeLorean looks like an incredible tribute to one of the most beloved movie vehicles of all time. From the first look, it’s clear that LEGO has poured a lot of attention into capturing every iconic detail, from the gull-wing doors and time circuits to the flux capacitor and futuristic blue highlights. The model feels instantly recognisable and full of personality, perfectly bringing the classic DeLorean to life in brick form. With fantastic minifigures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown included, fans can relive their favourite time-travelling moments. Even before release, this set promises to be a must-have for both LEGO collectors and Back to the Future fans alike.

From legendary movie cars to timeless supercars, the Lego Speed Champions line continues to capture the heart of automotive culture in brick form. Each set tells its own story, whether it’s the thrill of the racetrack, the nostalgia of a beloved film, or the craftsmanship behind an iconic design. Building these sets isn’t just about assembling pieces; it’s about celebrating speed, style, and creativity. These top picks highlight why Speed Champions remains one of Lego’s most exciting and evolving themes, and with each new release, fans have another reason to start their engines and build something extraordinary.

Until next time, keep building!
